Studio
Founded in 2011 by Ida and Anders Holm, the practice is now twenty-four people working from an old printing hall on Islands Brygge.

We work on public buildings and housing, mostly in Denmark, and take on one or two private houses a year when the site asks for something careful.
Every project is led by a partner from first sketch to handover. We keep the studio small enough that everyone knows every project on the wall.
How we work

Stage 01
Listening
Every project starts on site, with the people who will use the building: librarians, teachers, tenants and neighbours.

Stage 02
Drawing
We draw by hand and build models in the studio before anything goes into the computer, so ideas stay loose for as long as they should.

Stage 03
Building
An architect from the design team stays on the project through construction, on site every week until handover.

Stage 04
Returning
A year after the doors open we go back, ask what works and what does not, and bring the lessons to the next project.
From the model workshop
Every building starts as card, timber and plaster. Models are how we test light and scale, and how we talk with clients and neighbours about what is coming.

People
Our work is shaped by a small team of architects, landscape architects and model makers, bringing patience, plain materials and an eye for detail to every project.
